It's taken many months to go through all my photographs from my trip to Iceland this summer, but the deed finally done. (I given two shows of the work now and the response has been very positive.)
I thought I'd take a break from all the technical stuff we have to worry about to share some photography.
Let's see, what can I tell you about the trip?
It took place in early August, over 9 days. Much of the shooting was aerial (one helicopter and three planes). Flying with open doors or doors off and hanging out to "get the shot" takes some getting used to! It was also very cold. I brought my mountaineering/winter cold weather wear for the shoot. I needed used every lens in my kit from 40mm to 300mm and the 1.4x. All were shot with the Sinar Hy6 and eMotion 75LV. Despite the challenging environment--some rain, 100+ mph wind, and being subjected to below freezing temperatures, the equipment did a good job and didn't seem to be affected by these working conditions.
Iceland was absolutely fabulous. I'd recommend it visiting a heartbeat. I didn't know much about the country before I went, but the people were quirky, eccentric and very welcoming--definitely my kind of folks.
I'd like to present you with a selection of 22 photographs from my work in Iceland at
