Edit in Photoshop Problem V 2.1
« on: October 22, 2008, 11:34:31 pm »

OK, I've been waiting for 2.1 because it is supposed to ease the working in PS workflow. 2.1 is up and running. I select two images that I want to merge to HDR in CS3. I select the images cntrl E (running Vista 32) and PS launches, which is an improvement from 2.0. I wait patiently for the images to load but NADA, no image loads. Bring up lightroom with error message, "the files cannot be opened because CS3 did not launch", well yes it did. tried again with PS running, same message. PIA.
I'm going to re-boot to see if that fixes, however I'm open to any suggestions from this knowledge well.
thanks

Rich, thank-you-again.
I've re-installed the application patch, however to no avail, it may have something to do with turning off the anti-virus, which is a challenge. The scripting is not updating to 10.0.1. I will dig deeper into the tech note and try some more things, later. I'll report back for those interested.
Many thanks to the kindness of strangers here.

I too have had this problem, but thanks to the link from Rich have now fixed it, and it will now also open as a smart object.
Briefly when I went to Help>system info the version on the first line was correct at 10.01 but when I scrolled down to Scripting Support it read 10.0 and not 10.01. I then reinstalled the 10.01 patch from Adobe site, and lo and behold the Scripting Support now reads 10.01 Incidentally I forgot to disable my anti-virus.
We usually get an answer from the good people on this site.

Alas, still no resolution of the problem. numerous trys to instal the patch did not update the Scripting to 10.0.1 and so it continues to give the same error messaage.
I have turned off both windows security and my virus program to install, I have uninstalled LR 1.3 and still it does not work.
Version 2.1 was supposed to fix the edit in PS CS 3 however not for me.
Any suggestions please. I'm running Vista 32
thanks
