Identify these digital back adapters?
« on: November 29, 2007, 02:57:44 pm »

Can anyone help with this?  I recently purchases a body trhat came with a number of back adapters.  it was presumed by both the seller and me (without seeing them in person) that they adapter the back of the camera.  However, on receiving them, it seems they are actually adapters for a digital back.  The Contax 645 adapter in mix fits neatly on the C645.

I would guess that they might be for a Sinar or Jenoptik back, but I just don't know which one.  I further guess that since they were all together they fit the same back.  A picture of them, along with the boxes they came in, are pictured below.

The adapters that I have are the following:
1) AP Contax 645 AF (Adapterplatte Contax 645 017953-079-24)
2) AP Hasselblad EL (Adapterplatte Hasselbald EL 017953-050-24 -- but the adapter itself says "Hasselblad CW")
3) AP Mamiya 645 AF/AFD
4) Mamiya RZ

Any ideas about this?

Well, those look like Jenoptik numbers. I might be interested in one of those if it turns out to be the right part.

Yep for sure. Looks like Eyelike Precision series. And, from the boxes, looks like distributed by Sinar, not by Eyelike directly. Make sure there are sync/winder cables in the boxes for the non-electronic bodies.

Those adapters do not "carry" our item numbers nor boxes: I believe they came directly from Jenoptik for their "Precision" backs.

I will try to get confirmation as soon as possible.

Best regards,
Thierry

Thanks for the info.  It figures it would be for the older backs rather than the newer ones.

Of the Eyelike Precision series backs, will they work on all the backs in that series, including the M22, M11 and M16?  Or do some of them take a different adapter?

If for the Precision series: those backs use different adapters, depending if it is a M11, M16 or M22.

I believe they work on all the Precisions (M22, M16, M11, M6). I don't recall ever having to order a separate adapter for individual models.

Steve,

I have different ordering numbers, at least for the M11 and M22, when sold through Sinar, but I am in the process to check and confirm.

Best regards,
Thierry

Here the answer:

The adapters on the image are ALL for the Precision backs M6/M11/M16: thos 3 different backs all use the same adapters. These adapters come from Jenoptik and have been sent out for at least 2 years. These M6/M11/M16 backs are not longer available.

The M22 Precision is using a different adapter plate than the ones above.

Hope this answers it.

Best regards,
Thierry
