Color management resources
« on: June 15, 2006, 08:18:53 am »

I want to educate myself some more in the field of Color Management. I already bought and read ‘Real World Color Management’, by Bruce Fraser. It’s a good introduction. The internet is also a good place.

…but still I ask questions that seem to be obvious: http://luminous-landscape.com/forum/index....showtopic=11193

What books can you recommend that goes a little further compared to ‘Real World Color Management’, but isn’t completely written for the color geek? Photography is still my main focus. At Dry Creek there are some recommendations, but I don’t know of these are suitable for a photographer or still up-to-date.

Any recommendations appreciated.

All the best,

Hendrik

Hendrik,
Two books I liked:

Andrew Rodney
Color management for Photographers: Hands on Techniques for Photoshop Users (here)

Abhay Sharma
Understanding Color Management (here)

Wow, thank you! I bookmarked the page.

francois, also thank you for your suggestions. Abhay Sharma's book looks interesting. I expect Andrew Rodney's book will be very good, but am afraid it's of the same level as Bruce Fraser's book.

Of course, we can't forget to mention the famous Real World Color Management book. The beginning chapters on how the eye works and human perception are worth their weight in gold.
