i1 iSis 2

Apart from the M1 measurement, is anyone aware of any major advantage of the new iSis over the mark 1?

"The i1 iSis 2 automated chart reader is compliant with the latest standards. M1 is now the specified measurement condition for GRAcoL 2013, SWOP 2013, and ISO 12647-2. M1 measurement conditions are required to achieve accurate proof to press sheet matches in newer D50 lighting booths."

I have zero idea from that web site (typical of X-rite) what's new other than the number 2 on the unit. The 'original' (I have a Rev E) has undergone revisions as you can see, there are differences in earlier units in how it measures white. Not necessarily better or worse but different IF you use multiple units (Rev E and say Rev C) where the measurements will be different. Otherwise I have no idea what this so called new unit is supposed to do the original didn't. IF M1 is it, I'm not sure I'm that impressed.
