Alpine Germany
« on: February 23, 2015, 06:46:45 pm »

Revisiting shots taken on a cycling trip 5 years ago along the Northern edge of the Alps. Olympus E-410 with 14-42 kit lens. All panoramas all hand held, who takes a tripod on a bicycle?

Thierry
Obersee is the lake above Konigsee in Berchtesgaden. The last 2 shots are both from Obersee a short but fairly strenuous cycle from Salzburg but in Germany, just. Paulo I describe the photographs as postcards myself and when cycling they are the best that I can produce as I usually arrive at a place, pitch my tent and lack the energy to find the best place or wait for the perfect light.

I like the second one best. There's a sense of depth and height in it.

As a former cyclist, the first shot appealed to me because the flat terrain in the foreground suggested that the cycling might not be too difficult, while still getting nice views of the mountains.

But the second and third really give the sense of being in the mountains (and I can well imagine the hard work necessary to get there).

Beautiful "postcards."
