Canon Speedlite 580EX

As I have (and use) this 580EX, I would like to know:
What is the infrared carrier frequency: 30, 35, 40 or 45 KHz ?

Is anyone has tried to see (and or duplicate) the used protocol between master and slave ?

If anyone could help (or tell me where to find the used protocol) I would be really happy
