Ferrotype a glossy inkjet print?
« on: December 23, 2014, 12:34:53 am »

Anyone try and use a chrome ferrotype plate with a glossy inkjet paper?  Can it be done?

The inkjet glossy I have has a sort of fine, orange peel like stipple to it and not perfectly - or optically - flat like some old B&W ferrotyped glossies I have made decades ago.

Was curious if the process of squeegeeing the print, maybe soaked in weak PhotoFlow, onto the waxed ferrotype plate would work the same, or if it would stick and be a mess.

The ink, once dry, seems immune to water as I soaked it, but I can't find my ferrotype tin to try it.  I'll buy one if it can be done with inkjet papers.
