My recent trip offered varying types of photographic opportunities...I have posted a seascape, my attempt at street, and now wildlife!

This is an interesting picture: we were quietly watching a herd of elephant at the waterhole, when they were joined by a second group, including a very new baby. As they were greeting each other, a game ranger started a diesel pump which startled both groups and they fled to the far side of the swamp.

There were lion about and perhaps they sensed danger in the direction they were fleeing to. Anyway, whatever it was that caused further alarm resulted in them forming this circle with the little one inside. An amazing sight to witness with the trunks going up to try and smell the danger.

Very nice William. A good composition and a nice range of tones descending towards the darker areas.

Elephants are amazing. A few years ago my wife and I were at a state fair. We walked through a back area where there were two elephants in side-by-side enclosures. A guy came by and tossed a batch of hay into the male's enclosure and then went away -- probably to get more hay. After a minute the male picked up a bunch of hay with his trunk and tossed it into his girl's enclosure. It gave me a really good feeling about life in general and these animals in particular.
