Lightroom mobile

Hi there

is there a way to get the star rating onto the ipad version? Rating is realling the most important thing I would do as part of editing on the ipad.

Thanks

Not yet, but Adobe's Tom Hogarty has said it's coming - "it was pretty clear after a few rounds of private testing that it [flags] wasn't sufficient and we decided to move forward with star ratings after v1.0".

Ratings will help, but my need is for keywording. Photosmith handles that pretty well now.

Do you really think the iPad is a good platform for keywording? It's a task that's inherently about quantity - you keyword because you've lots of pictures and keyword lists are lengthy.

It's a tradeoff. I spend too much time sitting in front of a computer. If I could do a lot of keywording in the field, on an iPad, that would save me from some of that.

The App Store has just delivered an update to Lightroom Mobile to my iPad.

The updates are:

- Add start ratings to photos. Star ratings will be synched with Lightroom desktop (requires desktop version 5.5 or later)
- View and sort photos in any order. Custom sort order will be synched with Lightroom desktop (requires desktop version 5.5 or later)
- Bug fixes and performance improvements.

The "Check for updates" in my copy of Lightroom 5.4 says no update is available, but the mobile update would seem to indicate that a version 5.5 will be released soon.

There's an announcement due today (1pm ET) so you probably won't have long to wait. I imagine the Mobile update crept out early because of the Apple app store.

No worse than most other functionality of LR mobile considering the steps to get the data there and back and the toolset. If you're sitting pool side, don't you want to keyword on your ipad there?  :o
