I'm scanning slides. Kodachrome has to be scanned in a different way to other slides so I am always on the lookout for it. If the slide has been remounted (and I don't know what type it is) I can work out it's Kodachrome by the texture of the surface on the back of the slide. E6 processed slides typically have smooth surfaces on both sides. Or so I thought.
I have come across some slides that were taken in 1972 which have texture on the back, very similar to Kodachrome, but which don't scan with correct colours when I scan them as Kodachrome. They look much better scanned as normal positives. They slides are not faded. The only marking on the film itself is a widely-spaced "8 5 6" at the top of the slide.
Does anyone know what type of film this is?
