Nikon AF-S 35mm 1,8 any good
« on: February 24, 2014, 03:47:52 pm »

Hello,
size and weight are of concern for me. Is there anybody using this fairly new lens? Compared it to the other offerings? Like the Sigma Art 35mm or the Nikon 1,4 35mm????

Thanks in advance for your opinions

Its small cheap and light, pin sharp. Bokeh isnt going to win any awards but its not nasty either. A must buy entry level crop lens for nikon.

The sigma 35/1.4 is a whole other deal, full frame and faster.

The other Nikon f1.8 lenses are really excellent.  They seriously rival the f1.4s on IQ and kick their ass on mass and value.

I think the OP is talking about the new full frame 35/1.8g.

We're definitely all still waiting on the tests for that one.  But as Nick says, if it's in a league with the other FX f/1.8 primes, it will be pretty nice.  It's a good question as to whether it stacks up against the Sigma Art 35/1.4 or the 35/1.4g.

Yes, I'm talking about the 35mm FX lens.
