Very cool, really like it Arlen. Both the bird and the tree remind me of doing pans on jackpine trees. A vertical pan leaves behind a similar look and pattern to the woodpecker in motion. It creates a texture which most camera motion images do not have.

Thanks, John. I have to come clean and admit that this one was a happy accident. I had set the camera for aperture priority, and failed to notice than in the shade of the tree, the shutter speed had fallen dangerously low. It was on a monopod so that helped steady the camera, but not the bird.

I went out today and took a few at creek near Hamilton. Used my brother's Nikon camera hand held and the all in one 35-200 equivalent. It was quite liberating to use one lens. Forgot how to use everything. I use Pentax. So got a few underexposed images, which I had to brighten up quite a bit. Here are three; Arlen, notice the one with the texture in the bark. Not a great shot, but shows what I was talking about.

Arlen, speaking of happy accidents, that's how I got started in Camera movement photography. Had a few happy accidents and saw some on internet and realized I could do those and learn how to make them in a conscious way. That's how I took this one today- a real abstract using the colours of autumn that all result in shapes and lines- and a happy flare!

I see what you mean about the bark, John. Very interesting. All of those shots are really compelling. As I've said before, you are the master of this sort of thing, and I always enjoy seeing more of them.

I like to play from time time with images because we have a "creative" competition in club. So I stripped this image of the very noisy background of dark grasses. While I work on trying to create something, it occurred to me this is fine abstract style image in its own right.

Thanks! Not really familiar with 30s journalistic fashion or how this seems Russian. I just liked the visual impact of those shapes rising from the darkness. This is from a hotel room window overlooking a rooftop with skylights.

Off to Google to find 30s journalistic fashion references...

not to detract from your fine photograph but theres something about the image aside from the posrtion occupied by the door handle that bears an eerie similarity a certain painting By Expressionist artist Edvard Munch entitled "The Scream".

Its truly uncanny

And nice catch, Slobodan. I thought something looked a little familiar about the shot, but I didn't catch on until you pointed it out.
