I like the "played with" version even better than the straight one (which was quite nice already).

If I enter anything abstract or non-representational in my club, it seldom does well. But I am not changing.

Ditto. If you're not making images that interest and attract you, what's the point? And, I think it's very healthy to show such images to other club photographers, even if it's not to the general taste. You never know when or who you might inspire!

Here is the same image that I started to play with. Nothing special, but playing helps the creative juices flow.

Like Eric, I find this one more interesting and appealing.

This one is very nice. Reminds me of a Van Gogh sky.

Yes it is kind of abstract. It has a really nice glow and a horizontal movement. Love the brown-orange colors. We don't usually critique in the abstract thread, but I think this would look even better without the bottom right land mass. Just pure color and movement. How did you get the look, camera movement or long exposure?

The cupboards are haunting me. And now LuLa too. I have to keep them clean. A fuller variation, in which the window blinds nicely fill the bottom right area with shadows, and make overall look even more interesting-- at least to me.

And from cupboard to walls and windows, more striking light. I get critical comments about my bare walls, but it allows the light to play. So for now it stays.

Thanks!  I did about a 3 sec pan, if I remember correctly, during sunrise.  The dark area is water.  I really went crazy with the edit in LR.

I love this in colour, but it seems to be more surreal in BW. Let's see if I can manage at least one image per week.
