Flipped reflection of a hillside.  The floating log doesn't look flipped so that plays with your mind a bit.

I finally got it. Despite reading it a few times, I didn't understand the complaint. Apparently the brain can often, and in this case did, read into the sentence the correct wording even though it's not there. Let's try again: Light and shadow.

It very subtle and you have to enlarge the image quite a bit to see the log juxtaposed against the mirage-like reflection.

Went on Downtown Toronto outing today. Overcast with very flat light. But I really fell for these circular lines and played around with contrast to improve the quality of light.

Nice.
I'm glad you didn't leave out the {shadows} on this one.   :D

This is what you get when you give your kid the camera with a longish exposure

Good stuff!
The first shows a little too much influence of John R's work IMHO, but the second one is a highly original abstract.
You've got competition in the family now.

My wife recently got herself an iPhone, and she has started competing with me photographically. I may have to learn how to cook so I can complete with her.

In the first one, it's inclusion of the figures (? – human and dog?) that really elevates the image. The angle of the branches and the flow of motion is perfect. Print it, mat and frame it, and put it on the wall. Your child will be inspired.

I do enjoy this. It is very mysterious and evocative.
