"The damned lens (2.8/180 Nikkor) wouldn't focus on the statue at all..." Aha, so your blurry, mystical images are accidents? But then again no (like Elton John), "I suspect, from deep and measured research, that it's a family trait. The ancestors knew a thing or two." So back to a mystery. Might as well keep it that way.

Arlen, they are simple reflections on the hood of a car. It caught my eye, and the more I moved my head, the more interesting the contorted reflections became. When I pointed it out to fellow walkers, they immediately started looking for similar reflections. So from architecture to abstractions and then back again. It was a good day.

Easy enough to do in PhotoShop. Just copy the watermark onto a separate layer, flip it upside down, blur it a little, and position it in the water below.

Fabulous Arlen. That little orange square reminds me of a clever show I once saw. The creater used a window as portal to show other related images and to get inside the building. It was very clever and well done. Through that window, I can see a whole farm and the inside of the barn. That's what I see.

Thanks for that story, John. I have to admit that I have a soft spot for old barns, and love to wander around them with camera in hand.

In the spirit of the new column on "abstractions" by Alain Briot, I thought I would submit this one taken today. And by the way guys, how do you make those small images that expand when clicked? I would rather do that than tie up all this space with huge images.
