A while ago I said I was going to close this thread and open a new one with a title that might be less offensive to those that feel that my quasi-definition of "Abstracts" is too loose. But so much good stuff keeps being posted here that I have changed my mind.

Since I can't find a way to change the title of the entire thread, I have changed the title of this post to show what I was intending.

Thanks for the comments Eric. Not really, but I do slide shows in club settings and have been asked to do an exhibition. I am working on it.

Here is one, that believe it or not was taken in camera with about 40 in-camera exposures. More expressionist than abstract.

It's been a while since I checked in on this thread, and some fine contributions have been added in the meantime. I particularly like Pegelli's broken pattern, Bbrantley's red specks on blue green, John R's black and white multi-exposure, and Patricia's B-I-L-lumine.

Greetings Eric. Greetings Arlen. As one of you knows, it has been a long and somewhat traumatic road to return to the sea, and at long last with no need to leave these islands. I am fortunate beyond words to be on an island directly on a reach linking the islands of Penobscot Bay. Pre glacial history is visible in places of eruption at surface and my time, whenever the pressing severing process from my former life allows, is spent familiarizing myself with the tides and ledge locations and accessibility for this winter's explorations. Did finally start to unpack a crate containing some gear, which I have been unable to justify even touching for a good while now. The moment I am behind a lens, or extended onto parallels by them, I am ripped away from the responsibilities I must yet complete to breathe this luxury of age. I am so appreciative of this LULA community. It has kept me feeling alive with hope as I navigated here to see the richness of possibility among such diverse members. I promise to attempt not to overstay the welcome always extended, but I now never leave for the most trivial reason without a camera or sketch notebook of some sort close at hand.

I would love to see Patricia's bw, other-worldly image. But so many people are posting huge images that will not fit on my screen- and I have 25 inch screen! Maybe I have some setting turned off. Every image used to resize automatically. But since I upgraded my computer, only images smaller than 1200pix will fit on the monitor.

Anyway, like most of what I see, but would love to see the silver movement from Patricia without having to download the whole image!

What browser are you using? I find Firefox is best for LuLa for me. I click on a thumbnail and a new page opens with the image just fitting my screen.
I used to use Internet Explorer, but in Win 10 now it messes up many things.

P.S. Nice buildings. Did you have them custom built for you to photograph?

I use Chrome. Maybe I will try Firefox. I figured out the problem. I had Chrome set at 125%, so the image would not auto fill. Now it does. I simply reverted to 100% and then selected 125% form text only.

Here are some images of abstracts that I spotted at my local grocer. You can see part of the sign, which I did not want. But a couple of days before, there was no sign, so I envisioned a fine abstract but was too late!! The sign went up.

Here is the first with sign.

Here is second, cropped to what I envisioned before sign went up. In fact I wanted the
shadows to project in the white area.

Here is one with longer shadows, but again waited about one hour too long. Lost oblique
shadows which are are much more dynamic. Still looks cool, I think.
