Thank you guys; it's just one of those 'presents' that we, as photographers, are sometimes given. And as I've said before, until they arrive they aren't even a distant idea in my mind. Well, they almost never are, except the times when I start with a caption that sticks in my subconscious, and then the image comes knocking some time later.
I did start out with a love of paint: that was due to my mother, who took me - not dragged - to places within wartime Britain that still had open doors with treasures beyond.
So I suppose those experiences remain for life, even when the original love - paint - turns out not to possible for you later on. But the mind doesn't really care that much - there are always alternative ways to live those feelings through your life.
