Contax 645 standby mode
« on: September 12, 2013, 09:37:24 pm »

The Contax 645 with a MFDB mounted on it goes into standby mode after 16 seconds. Anybody figured out what to do about this so that good shots are not lost while fiddling with the controls to bring the old croc back to life -- apart from pressing the shutter button every 15 seconds?

If I know that it has been long enough for the camera to go to sleep, I just press the shutter twice in quick succession.  Obviously not ideal, but it is what it is . . .

Same special effect as when I focus on a fast moving yeti and press the shutter on my oldest point and shoot compact camera  :)

LOL  The new Canons have a yeti program mode.  :(

Perhaps Contax will issue a firmware upgrade to make this user configurable.  Oh wait.  Never mind.

Not to say the sleep mode is a good thing, but there is so many cameras with a glitch and I have a long list, but the sleep thing is better than burning through AA's like used Toyota Prius.

I've used the Contax for years and just got use to it. If I set it down, or walk away I always know it takes a double tap.

Come on man didn't you see Zombie Land?

Always double tap.

IMO
