New York City long exposure

Hello!

I am a new member on this forum. I thought I would start with a photo I recently took while I was on vacation in New York City. I am particularly interested in long exposure photos of landscapes and cityscapes, and I would appreciate any feedback from you guys.

Nice shot that is well executed.  I am not sure if it is terribly original, but that doesn't diminish it's quality.  I find the deep purply-pink sky a bit strong to my taste. I really like the use of the pilings as an echo of the skyscrapers.  The fact that it is a long exposure (water blur) doesn't enter into my perception of the image much.

I find the original better... still a bit nuclear, but the blue in the sky helps.

Very nice vision and execution. I like the latest version with the blue sky on top.  This is an ideal art show piece.

They are all quite good, but the duotone is most pleasing to me.  It seems less "commercial."

Excellent shot. Version #2 works better for me, due to the bluish tone in the sky, that is what I would expect the sky to look like at that time of the day. I would suggest a tighter crop on the right hand side, just left of the lamp (?). I find that area on the right adds nothing to the photo.

Less colors focuses your attention on the composition and tonality more. I think this is good.  Put another way, the color wasn't reinforcing strength of the image in its echoing vertical lines. 

We are firmly in the space of opinion here, though, so don't feel like any of this diminishes the image you like best.
