Drakensberg Amphitheater Panorama
« on: June 08, 2013, 02:53:30 pm »

Image made from 7 captures with a Canon 10D, Tamron 17-35@24mm, f4.5, ISO 100, 1/10s, all manual.  Post processing with CS6 Photomerge and some tweaking.

I am considering dividing the image into 30x20 canvas prints and would appreciate advice before I do.  I know, better equipment and stopping down a bit would improve the image, but I doubt I'll ever get back to that part of SA.  The image was taken in 2005.  I've never seriously considered spending the money necessary to print it at a reasonable height, until now.

I would appreciate CC to improve the image.

Very nice. Got enough resolution for that size of print?

Yes, it's a very nice panorama with depth and great shapes. With this small size, it's hard to give more comments on technical details.

I would certainly try to print it!

Thanks, Scott and Francois.  Yes, the 1024px image I uploaded looks pretty soft and overall just puny.  However, the 100 % peeks at portions of the 9400px version to be printed show good detail, but not crunchy.

Hope I like the printed canvases.  I took advantage of a 3 prints for the price of 1 from a print house I've never used before.
