There's actually not a huge amount of difference  except for the dark cloth.  I have an incredibly light rig --  a Phillips Explorer with a small wide-angle dagor, which works on a  Gitzo reporter,  and I carried my film holders in an elegant leather hunting bag I bought in Lucca.  I didn't take a single cab in three months -- all metro, bus or foot.  Would love to go to Poland -- those eastern European countries fascinate me.  In April I am planning to go to Ljubljana to check out the work of the great architect and urbanist Joze Plecnik.  He also did interesting stuff in Prague.  No more view camera -- the Leica Monochrom is plenty good enough for me.

Carried 8X & 4X for years in the States.  The 120 was just easier in the Eastern European Countries .. but you still run out of film though.  :D

And I wore a vest with 120 film across the front -- looked like I was carry shotgun shells through this little hamlets  ???

My friend worked 5X7 in Iceland > had to Express film over from New York B&H  :'(

I have 20 years of shooting architecture /people  in Europe .. did work in Ljubljana.  ;)   Also   3 nice visits to Riga  ..  I went before the Wall came down -- so many places were still in tact --almost post WW II.  Much too crowded now -- especially with a tripod.
