A forest trying to look like Gainsborough's Wood

I've been doing some looking and some thinking, and came to the apparently popular conclusion that it is all about the light.
Below is an effort to impart a bit of the delicate Gainsborough-esqueness that I would love to see in my landscapes.

I really didn't appreciate this one until I clicked through to the larger version. There it works so much better IMO.

Sorry it may not be obvious with the small jpeg, but the original is a high res stitched panorama with crazy fine detail. I haven't printed it yet, but am really hopeful it lives up to expectations.
