Hello,

If you are feed up as much as I have with camera straps you might want to try what I did.

I found this company in the US call Berkeley Point who sell these very well made spring clips.

http://www.berkeleypoint.com/products/hardware/stainless_clips.html

The clip I use for my Fuji X10 is the "Micro" and the clip for my Nikon D3X is the "Nano"

Cheers

Simon

PS check the For Sale section as I am selling my entire Mamiya 645 AFDII camera and lens kit

If only they had a swivel to prevent twisted straps they'd be perfect!

Marc,

I trolled the world looking for clips suitable. So when I found these I thought these will do just fine and they have. The ease of attaching and removing the camera strap is fast and easy. The slight twist in the camera strap at the base of the strap is minor.

Cheers

What a nice find. And that company has a lot of other interesting bits of hardware that could come in handy for other purposes. Thanks.

Thanks, I have been looking for something like this as I would like to be able to easily switch between wrist and neck straps.

[EDIT]  Oops!  $30 minimum order.  You can get them on Amazon for around $7.50 each plus shipping.  http://www.amazon.com/McGizmo-Micro-Clip-25mm/dp/B0078XJ2LU/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1341962434&sr=8-7&keywords=lanyard+hooks+clips

Or you could get 10 plain lanyard clips for $5 shipped.  http://www.amazon.com/Steel-Spring-Lanyards-Straps-Silver/dp/B0049DO6FE/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=1341962434&sr=8-9&keywords=lanyard+hooks+clips  (though I think these are a tad large)

They sell a swivel too!
http://www.berkeleypoint.com/products/hardware/swivel.html

Don't know if it needs a split ring at either end of the swivel?....

My question? Camera marking?

--this may help some....

Here's another solution...but takes up the tripod mount. Expensive.

http://www.customslr.com/products/c-loop

This fitting allows you to attach the camera strap at the base of the camera. Same problem as black rapid strap--it takes up the tripod mount and must be removed if you use a tripod.

(I've stopped using the BlackRapid strap I have; I don't like it's remanufactured carabiner. A small pin on the 'biner is all that's holding my gear.) Back to using Domke Gripper Straps.

I used the opTech solution for a while. Still love the little plastic loops, but the swivel clips came undone twice, the second time the camera hit the ground and that was the end of them. I don't know that I would trust anything short of a locking carabiner.

I have not used a strap regularly since one hung on a bag and yanked the camera from my hand 30 years ago. When I need one, I prefer ones with a fastex type quick release. Metal releases through the camera lug scratch finish from the body, so I prefer well made plastic hardware.
