Quick Q on Cambo WRS & WDS

Hi all,

I'm contemplating upgrading my WDS to a WRS. Will my WDS H mount adapter bolt straight onto the WRS? Or is their a WRS specific H plate?

Would love a quick answer if possible :-)

The plate (that the DB attaches to) is the same - Cambo Ref: SLW-89 - for both the WRS and WDS.

I have looked at my plate and it has two bumps on the top and right side of the plate.  This is not my pic, but shows the H plate in question

Hi Chris -

Indeed the plate is different. For WRS - you would need a different plate than the WDS - the plates for the WDS that fit into the mount are similar sized to the WRS plates, but as noted, have the notches that distinguish it from the WRS plate and and prevent it from mounting to the WRS.

On the good side - the Cambo Lenspanels are compatible, so any lens fitting the WDS will also mount into the WRS. That goes for most accessories, although some, like the new Rotating Compendium Shade, will be limited working with the WDS, due to the rise/fall action of the lens (on the WRS, the digital back performs all movements, the lens remains stationary).

I really appreciate your comments and clarification on the issue Steve.  Felt I was going a little crazy with the differing points of view I was coming across.

I'm in Oz so shipping may sadly ruin any deals you have

Not a problem Buck, thanks for getting back to me.  Yeah I must have the older design.  All is cleared up now.  I thought I was being told porkies!
