Stirling Ranges

I got this shot of a field in Co. Tipperary at the weekend when the sun broke through the clouds to light up this small field. I had been thinking about Peter Eastway's article during attempts at getting a shot that I liked from earlier breaks in the clouds. In this case the lighting is natural but as I have maninpulated my shot in other ways as per my notes http://www.flickr.com/photos/johncoveneyphotos/, I'm not saying this is a better way of doing things - just different!

Aloha,

So Peter, do you advocate looking for really poor overall light and then adding a spot of light to it?
Or do you think looking for amazing light and trying to capture that is better?
Or do you consider that light on site does not matter in photography any more?

Having read a lot of articles by Peter Eastway and seen a fair representation of his photography the answer to the questions are: no, yes, no.

Peter's philosophy seems to be to lever whatever light is present to his advantage.
