This is an excellent lens which combines image stabilization with a fast f/2.8 aperture. Combined with a 40D or a 7D, it makes a great normal zoom lens for journalism, documentary work, weddings, etc.
This lens fits only Canon cameras that accept EF-S lenses, including the 7D, the xxD series and the Digital Rebels. It will not fit a full frame or 1D-series camera.
