Jozef, you don't need any adapter for the lenses (I presume you're talking about the lenses, not the film/digital backs, which can't be adapted). Mamiya 645 manual lenses work directly on the AFD bodies. The only thing is that you must manually control the aperture.

Exactly as said above, all of the M645 lenses work perfectly on AFD and DF obviously with manual focus and manual aperture control, newer N lenses need to be flipped from an (A) setting on the base of the lens to (M) which allows you to manually control the aperture. If you leave it in A no matter what aperture you select (I believe based on my 300mm f/2.8 APO) it will remain wide open.

Now, if you are asking about putting autofocus lenses on an older Mamiya body this is not possible since they lack the electronic contacts.

While you must control the aperture manually the Aperture Priority works (spot mode only) and Focus Confirmation works (a HUGE help for shooting a lens like the 80/1.9 wide open).

If you intend to use them either on a tripod for static subject matter (e.g. landscape) then you can stop them down, if you plan on using them hand held then it's usually not practical unless you intend to shoot them wide open or <2 stops stopped-down.

Very true, works perfectly with my 300mm f/2.8 APO even with the TC as well as the 120mm f/4 Macro D. Just ordered a 80mm 1.9N and 150mm f/2.8 MF which should be interesting. Hope to compare the new and old 150mm 2.8's soon.

After all that time, I finally get to understand why my metered exposure is way off when using manual lenses!  ::)

The histogram is my friend! My AFD/Leaf has 5 lenses, all non-electric, hence no AF or AA. Lotsa test shots …
