Hello,

I have a Sigma AF 100-300mm f/4 EX DG HSM APO lens which I use with my Nikon D3x and I am very pleased with the results. I also use the Sigma 1.4 converter with no visible loss in resolution. Check out the link below.

Now that's a GOOD lens, how about that... especially on a APS-c sensor! ...but it could do on a FF as well (with a little care)... Regards, Theodoros. www.fotometria.gr

Before purchasing the 300 f4, I tried the 80-400 both the same day.  I added the 1.4 later.     I love the 300 f4 and your post reminds me that I need to use it more often.  The 300 as others have posted is much sharper.

my mind goes to 300mm prime and my back goes to 80-400mm zoom.
