I’ve done this in an emergency, doing grey balance on my Aptus 22. Here are some examples:
Screenshots from C1 showing two frames of a session; first frame shot with daylight balance (available fluoros, tungsten, daylight).
Grey-balanced on leather vest; close.
This one was balanced on the Aptus, using the OOF grey table on the RHS of the frame as the neutral target (seemed a little warm to me).
Painting on MLKSHK.
If doing colour-critical work such as art repro, you can use greyscales or colour-checker cards to maintain control. You can also check histograms in Photoshop to see if there is any
combing; 48 bits is a lot of information, so I haven’t seen any problems yet.
