Impressed with LR4
« on: March 12, 2012, 10:24:49 am »

I have started to play a bit with LR4, and I have to say I am impressed by the new rendering engine. The compromise between detail extraction and smoothness of the rendering is remarkable.

Quick full size sample shot with a Leica 180 f2.8 APO (Leitax replacement mount) on the D7000... who needs funky AA filter less sensors...

That's a pretty nice lens by the way! :-)

Cheers,
Bernard

Hum... I guess nobody is going to believe me if I claim I use that Mamiya every week...  ;)

Bernard

Very nice and sharp! :-)

I wonder about the out of focus areas and the noise there. Is it result of higher ISO or a noise amplified by sharpening?

I removed all noise reduction in LR to maximize sharpness. This was an 8 sec exposure at ISO100 with 2500K white balance corrected in LR with grey card click.

Hand-held during a gale at the top of a mountain, no doubt.  ;)

Sure, that's the safest place for this Mamiya jewel!  :D
