Blimey, Assynt, and it's not raining, misty, blowing a gale, snowing, raining again, then going dark, before becoming lightish, with more rain, low cloud & even more rain than you could shake a stick at. Lucky you. Beautiful spot though.
This is OT to the image, but a small but dedicated group of Canadian Wildlife Service biologists up in Canada's northern tundra bared their arms and legs while a volunteer went around counting biting insects. The finally numbers were as many as 9,000 bites/ minute, enough to cause total exsanguination in about four hours, although you'd have gone mad long before then. The insects can cause the caribou herds to stampede and sometimes the only way to make an image is to set the camera on a tripod, set up the timer and walk away, bringing the 'gray cloud' with you.Mike.P.S.
