Leaf Aptus 22 ....battery life
« on: August 16, 2011, 08:26:17 am »

Well I have my recently aquired 22 fiited to my Mamiya 645 AFD11 all set up after an ititial scare with error db but I eventually reset the camera to factory settings and hey presto all seems to be working OK.

I have 2 new batteries both now fully charged and good to go first foray into the studio on Thursday. Won't be shooting tethered yet.

From experience can anyone tell me what sort of average number of shots I may expect to get from a fully charged battery and any tips on rationalising the power consumption for optimum performance.

Any help advice would really be appreciated.

Bill

You should expect 2-2:30 hrs from the leaf 2,350 mAh battery in normal use. Anything from 0 to ~1,000 frames

If you minimise the use of the screen you can extend the charge, imagine you are working with film and switch it off altogether (probably won't happen because of the temptation to see every shot). ::)

And also you can minimize the LCD brightness setting, which has a strong effect on battery life.

Bill,
Yes, with all LEAF backs a power adapter connected to the FireWire 800 is provided (small connector in a form of a L). You can directly connect your power supply used for charging the battery, or the 12V car adapter or bring power via a Quantum battery with the dedicated cable SD16. Cheers, Jean-Luc

Bill,
You can see the adapter on the left side of the two batteries:

Hope that will help. Ciao Jean-Luc
