I would like to comment / ask a question. In this article, you note:
Magnified focusing is accomplished by pressing the F2 key, then the Set button, which works well enough, but is awkwardly placed when shooting at eye level.
I do not have a GH2, but I do have a GF1. On the latter, when I use my legacy lenses and wish to magnify, I simply press the control wheel. Half pressing the shutter returns to normal magnification.
In other words, it's a one button (and well placed button) action on the GF1, not two. I had thought this was the same on the GH2 - have you tried it?

P.S. - I suspect this will work the same way for the G3 you are currently testing...
