Hahnemuehle Bamboo / Epson 3800
« on: July 16, 2011, 06:50:44 am »

What's the correct media type for this combination? The documentation from HM for MK papers suggests Velvet Fine Art but that's greyed out. The only available options are under the "Matte papers" heading.

Help!

I don't know about the 3800 but the 3880 has the correct setting for Velvet Fine Art under the "Fine Art" section of the Epson Print driver.  It sounds as though there may be a glitch in your driver installation.  We probably need some more details about your OS and print path to offer any other suggestions.

Velvet Fine Art does indeed show up under Fine Art but, as I wrote, it's greyed out. I'm using a Mac, latest OS, latest install of the Epson driver.

I'm on a Win7 machine but do remember some previous posts about Mac glitches and the suggestion was to delete and then reinstall the printer.  I don't know how easy this is to do and you might want to search the LuLa archives.

Make sure you are picking rear feed with that paper (I think).

+1

Many of the fine art papers imply you need to use the rear single sheet feed.
