Even if I use only Epson printers, I wouldn't consider that comparison that objective.
The blog is run by an Epson rep.

Yep, biased no doubt. Wasn't really over the top (not big time Canon bashing) but some misleading points. I might agree on a couple of points (straight through paper path is a plus) and add a few (such as spindle free paper loading) for the Epson, but these are bells and whistles, and find his print quality comparisons very weak.

He infers some issues with Canons that most Canon users will probably discount as non-issues ... such as the extra 30 seconds it takes for the Canon to print if you wake it from sleep but doesn't take between print jobs.  Without that they print at the same speed, so for all practical purposes they are about the same.  Should have left that out.

As far as print quality ... hard to back that up from a video.  The real problem is using a midrange quality comparison - anyone knows that as you increase in quality, all three printers get better.  Fact is those wanting high end quality aren't going to use these settings, and both brands at maximum quality producing stunning results.

I prefer Epson printers, but will readily admit this "shootout" isn't worth the storage space it's taking up on youtube.

30 seconds more time to rip? Oh how sad.

Why not talking about ink waste, manufacturing flaws in many of the latest Epson units, which is rampant, and the fact that gloss differential and bronzing, and scratch resistance are improved with the new Lucia ink?

Epson is worried and for a a very good reason.

Although it should be obvious, that link is not Epson.  They may be a dealer, but then salesmen always push an agenda to help with sales.
