Hi all, do all the P1 plus backs require a dark slide of equivlnt length to exposure? Any other long exposure MFDB long exposure options? Cheers Nick.

Yes

Any other long exposure MFDB long exposure options? Cheers Nick.

If you're going past "a few minutes" than a Phase One P+ back* is the only game in town.

*Excluding the P40+ and P65+ which are Dalsa sensors and do not do long exposures past a minute-ish

What about the P40/65 that only go to 1 minute and the AptusII backs that only go to 32 seconds. Do these "long" exposures REQUIRE dark frame subtraction too?

HI,

Thanks for your help.

Now if the H4D-40 sensor was "full frame" and the tilt and shift adapter was closer to $1000 rather than $6000....!

Cheers
Nick.

While I am aware of the limits quoted for different backs, it's never been clear where these limits are actually being imposed. In the Back firmware? Or Body firmware?

Or are these limits just the longest exposure times that can be made by the Body, without going to Bulb mode? And is there (how could there be?) any limit to Bulb? Again...Back firmware? Or Body firmware?

 ???

it has to do with the back and sensor technology, in your words = back firmware....
