What paper do you like for panorama's?
« on: October 20, 2010, 02:33:24 pm »

I am about to buy my first roll paper for panoramas for my Epson R1900. What do you like for printing your pano's or do you have a suggestion for a first paper?

I have mostly landscape and inside buildings panos

Thank you

Museo 365gsm cotton paper (SKU #09871) comes in 13" x 40" sheets that I have used in my Epson 3800 with excellent results. The 3800 is limited to 37.5" when using the Epson driver so this size works well if your image can fit within the dimensions of the paper. I have also used Epson's Exhibition Fiber for panos and the image had better "pop" than the Museo. I mention the Museo because I found the size to be quite unique and useful for my purposes. Give us a call if you need details on either media.

Unfortunately epson exhibition fiber is not meant to be used on the R1900 printer which I own. So I will have to search further. Other companies however such as Ilford do make fiber based papers with ICC profiles for the R1900 which could be used.

Have you tried EEF on the 1900? I printed quite a bit on my 2200 before upgrading to the 3800. Excellent results on the 2200.

As i said Randy Epson does not provide an  ICC profile for their EEF paper for the R1900. Something to do with the inks of the R1900. However, I have heard people still going ahead and using it and getting good results. but they had to figure out what profile to try out with it and what printer settings in the color management set up to sue before they got it right.

If you want a matt paper, Red River Aurora natural or white is nice. It come in 13x38 and 8.5x25 sizes for panos.
