Eyelike M22 and iMac not getting along
« on: September 08, 2010, 04:08:32 pm »

Hi all. I just bought a second-hand 24" 2.16 GHz iMac to use with my Eyelike M22 back. It's running Snow Leopard 10.6.4. The Eyelike software downloaded OK and appears to be working, but there are some issues with the back communicating with the computer. For example. I can't control the Rollei lens control with the software. If I try to change the f-stop, it gives me an "Internal error occurred". If I select "detect lens" I get the same error. I can manually trigger the shutter with the Rollei lens control and get an image on the screen, but that's it. No live preview either. This back works just fine with my iBook G4. I'm running the Eyelike Capture Pro 4.3. Not sure if there is a more modern version of the software I could be running. Any ideas as to what I should be trying? Thanks

From what I can find - Version 4.3.5.3 - works on the Intel Macs. Some people are using 4.4.6 (which was created for the emotion backs - but not precision backs, you didn't specify) with good results, but some others report instant crashes and inoperability.

It's a shame that it doesn't look like eXposure will support the eyelike backs.
