Green Screen Software Solutions
« on: September 09, 2010, 03:44:38 pm »

I've got a bunch of green screen photography I need to do. I'll be using a Sony a850. What is a decent pro-level software package. Any and all anecdotes and reommendations are appreciated.

I've used Ultimatte for film and video, but not for digital still photography. Have you tried other software solutions?

Yes.. but their Photoshop plug-in seems to work better.   At least it did some years ago when I tested them all before purchase.. and they were enough better to justify their price.

Perhaps.. but I just used their current version in CS5 yesterday.. Maybe there's some issues I haven't encountered but it seems to work fine.

One of the nice things about Ultimate.. is once you buy their USB security/licensing key (a physical USB dongle) they never seem to charge you again for upgrades.  I've had mine for 7-8 years now and it still works the latest version and they've never announced an upgrade fee.  Granted, $500 is a bit steep.. but for all the use I've got from the program its well worth it.
