I'll bet you could sell quite a few copies of a video of "LuLa's Top Twenty Outtakes."

Eric
And I'd be in line to buy and download a copy!

I am often asked to do a reel of out-takes from our productions and as often, I demur.

But this was too good to pass up.

Michael's old gallery in Toronto was not the quietest place to be recording for four days. Something was going on on the floor above:

Enjoy

What I want to see & hear is the reaction immediately after that.

So far the tutorial looks real good guys. Thanks for taking the time

Again a very enjoyable tutorial series! My compliments to the three gentlemen that locked themselves in for four days!

But what is that little gizmo on its small tripod on the table? Is it a microphone, supplementing the Lavalier ones?

Or is it Apollo 13's LEM? Will it ascend during the wrap-up episode? Will the little red light suddenly pop on when Michael says "Let me digress here for a moment" again?

Or, on the other hand, will Jeff, at some point, reveal that it's "a little joke that Thomas Knoll and Jeff Hamburg cooked up enabling soft-proofing in LR".
 ;)
But seriously: Well done! looking forward to following installments.

That's my backup sound recorder - a Zoom H4N

although on occasion I wish I had activated the water-filled squeeze ball connected to it...

Chris,

What brand is the external Firewire hard drive that Micheal has atttached to his MacBook Pro with the LR3 videos?
I assume it is a 500GB.

Thanks!

 :)Chris/Mike/Jeff,

Many thanks for such a comprehensive series - it is, IMHO, having purchased LR1 and LR2 videos prior to this series, the best thus far (certainly on Lightroom). One thing I learned, aside from the LR stuff, was the pronunciation of Jeff's surname. In the 'Tethered Capture' video Jeff himself uses the name 'sheewee' (phonetically) as opposed to Michael (or Mikey) who welcomes him in the Introduction video as Jeff 'shoe-ee' (phonetically). Which one is it? ;-)

I say she-we, Mike has just learned that's the correct pronunciation...on the other hand, the family name was originally Scheive (shave-ee) in it's original German. My great grandfather, upon entering the US as an immigrant, allowed the immigration officer to misspell the name as Schewe (converting the eive into ewe). My dad used to keep to the German pronunciation...my mom was the one to use the she-we version which is the way I pronounce it.

:) Thanks for the short video. It's priceless! The look on Jeff's face is "What the ****?" and Mike is saying "**** you dance teacher!". Their expressions are priceless.

Hello,

congratulations for this new video - it is terrific !

I would recommend you both for the next commedy-reward - although this video teaches many many very important things. In fact, you don't recognize that you are learning the whole time you watch the videos, and in my opinion that's the best way of learning.

@Jeff : Interesting to hear that you have German roots - do you speak a little German in your familily ? Do you stzill have contact to German parts of your family.

Best wishes

Nope and nope...about the only thing "German" about me is my appreciation of good beer.

I’m having trouble. I’ve got it all into LR but it’s not properly laid out. The boxes are overlapping each other and nothing is centered. Am I supposed to change the page layout? I tried setting it to 8.5 x 11 but it did not make it look any better.
What am I doing wrong?

I have just had the pleasure of watching all nine hours of LightRoom videos, and I am very impressed.

I just love the "chemistry" between Mike and Jeff, and their little arguments/fights over pronunciations
(I am a "language geek" myself) - just like an old couple that has been married for thirty years and still love each other to death.  ;D

Will there be a PS ver. 5 tutorial like this in the future ...?

If you are asking about the Camera Raw portion of CS 5, the answer is probably 'No'.

The Lightroom Tutorials (LR2 & LR3) outsell the Camera Raw Tutorials by at least 30:1.
Whether the reason is Branding, Marketing or level of customer interest,  a new CS5 tutorial similar to the existing 'Guide to Camera Raw in CS3/4' is unlikely.

Chris,

Have you done a proper comparative market analysis on the effect of Jeff's choice of shirt on sales of each video?

No, but my previous research & marketing background leads me to believe that the lesser quality of shirt combined with the word Raw in the product name, has led to only modest market penetration.

Well, at least I'm wearing a shirt...oh, wait, for a few seconds, I haven't been. EEEEK....

There's an app for that...
