I Love Polaroid
« on: February 24, 2010, 10:17:48 am »

I used to love using my Polaroid Camera to do quick snaps of models before doing the actual shoot and always had to use a Polaroid Back for my Medium Format camera and even a Polaroid back for my 35mm format. But the best were those Polaroids that you watched slowly develop before your very eyes. They were never really sharp, but they had THAT LOOK. I found this great plug in called Polaroid 9.6. It emulates the look of Polaroid from any existing image you have. You have several options available as well. You can change the look of the Polaroids drastically. Have a Ball!

Hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

I’m always interested in procedures which strive to create a specific look,
but then I’m always reluctant to download another plug-in and new piece of software.

Would you like to elaborate what it does (?).
It seems to be Mac only. I’m on Windowz.

The direct link, which I think Benjamin should have used is:

http://www.poladroid.net/

There does appear to be a Windows version.

I really have mixed feelings about Benjamin's posts.  On the one hand he is a very experienced photog and having participation from someone like him on a forum like this is nice.  On the other hand, he has been posting like this recently on several different photography sites, sometimes with the same post in multiple fora on a site.  He either had a sudden need to share or he is over-dosing on SEO.  I certainly respect the guy but if John Doe was spamming his "John Doe Photography blog" like this, I think he would be shut down pretty fast.

Indeed.

The polardroid software is OK, but not very versatile really.

For anyone wanting to play with the Polaroid style, I'd recommend trying the Polaroid Generator V2 set of actions made by 'rawimage' that are freely available from deviant art at http://rawimage.deviantart.com/art/Polaroi...OR-V2-118854065
