I have a unibody 13" macbook pro and I feel like I need to get an external monitor if I want to do serious photo work with it. I have tried to learn about the aspects of different monitor panels and color management but I have a whole lot to learn. I shoot negative and slide film in various formats and scan with a Nikon Coolscan 9000. I am 18 years old so I don't have very much money to spend but I have read on another forum that the Dell 2209WA is a great IPS budget editing monitor. Is this a good monitor?
I also plan to eventually get a video camera in the future so it would be nice if my monitor was well suited to handle video editing as well as photo work. Any recommendations will be greatly appreciated.
