FixerLabs Still in Business?
« on: December 17, 2009, 02:44:17 pm »

Earlier this year I downloaded a trial version of SixeFixer from Fixerlabs (http://www.fixerlabs.com/index.htm) to uprez some Canon 40D images to print 20"x30" in size. It did an amazing job, though very slowly: much better than Genuine Fractals. Raw files from my Canon 5DII don't need a great deal of manipulation to get to that size, so I stopped using the program after the trial expired.

I now want to print some more 40D images, but hesitate to buy the expensive SizeFixer program since it does not look like the company is updating it anymore. It does not look like the website has changed in about a year. An e-mail to FixerLabs went unanswered.

Anyone know anything about FixerLabs? Any other uprezzing programs that will give comparable results?

Thanks,

MIKE

I also emailed them a couple of month ago, in regards to a licensing issue, i.e. moving a version to another
machine.  Never heard back from them after 3 emails.  I did go ahead and purchase a new license, since I wanted
to get the project done.  I did receive a email back from the licensing group.  Never did hear back from support.

You might want to check out a project I'm working on:
http://www.visual-vacations.com/media/PixelClarity.zip

It's a beta for an image processing program that currently does resizing, but eventually will do a variety of lens corrections too. Try out the tech demo beta and see if the upsize interpolation is something you like. If so, PM or email me and maybe I could work up a version that just does resizing, but allows saving.

Thanks, Jonathan.  As a long time fan of DXO's lens correction concepts I've been following the other thread on your new software project. It looks very promising, but like several others here, I'm a Mac guy and will have to await an OS X port.
