Bosque del apache "Fly In" locations
« on: November 11, 2009, 06:25:28 pm »

We are going to the Bosque Del Apache after Thanksgiving.
Where is the best spot to shoot the Cranes coming in to roost. We are going to the "Flight Line" in the morning -- is it as good location for the Evening Fly In?

Thanks in advance for the advice.

You might also post your question at FM forum.  There are regular posters on the wildlife section that specialize in Bosque photography.

Harry -

These are not easy decisions, but you'll have a great time.

I'm far from an expert, but my limited experience says you'll need to keep an eye on the background (either clouds/sunset/hills) and be prepared to move as conditions change.

And wear a hat.

Dave

PS - If you see a bronze X3, give me a holler.

You might also want to take a look at the Arthur Morris guide on Bosque:  https://store.birdsasart.com/shop/category.aspx?catid=19

AM is one of the world's premier bird photographers and his guides are excellent.
