about one week ago advertised street prices in europe for Z3200 models seem to have changed drastically: down from about 8000-9000 to around 6000 euros (!!) for the 44ps, and from around 4500 to 2500 (!) for the 24 inch model. (according to geizhals.at/eu)
does anybody know of a reason for that - i.e. new HP printers coming up??
To my knowledge the 8000-9000 was more in the recommended price category than street price. There is also the serial number of your old wide format to give you a price reduction, then and now.
There has been a recent thread on Z prices in Germany:
http://luminous-landscape.com/forum/index....showtopic=38393Some think the price is still too high.
Two weeks ago I got a mailing from an Epson vendor with a 30% price reduction on the Epson 11880, going by the prices mentioned in that mailing.
I think the recession has a big influence on printer prices right now.
The Z3200-PS has enough features to stay in competition with other brands. Though a 17" sheet model would be nice to extend the range. Whether new models appear is hard to say, this weekend there is the Photoplus Expo in New York, next year is a Drupa and Photokina year.
