Camera raw profiles
« on: October 02, 2009, 07:13:54 am »

Does anyone know how much sharpening has been done by Adobe to the profiles? Nikon picture control has sharpening added to the profiles but it can be set to zero. Would I need to use the DNG editor to achieve the same?

The profiles only affect color rendering, not sharpening.

I agree there's no sharpening in the profiles. But in addition to color rendering they also affect the tone curve. In fact if you compare the Nikon "camera" profiles to the standard Adobe profiles the overall contrast and the placemen of the midtones is considerably different.
