I like the abstraction in #11 (the train in Belgium).  That one is the standout for me.

For #6 (more Rift Valley) is that Mt Longenot behind the tree?  I'm trying to work out where you took the shot.  Nice work on the sky, shame about the tree and the wires.

thanks for the comments;

#6. was taken at   1°27'7.36"S,  36°38'26.23"E (plug that into google and bob's your uncle). I'm surprised that you think the tree and power lines take away from the image, to me they are exactly what draw me in

yeah, at first i took the photo without anyone in it, and then those gents started to look at it and i thought, 'i wish they would get out of the way so that i could frame the shot i want' but in the end it was the one with them peering at it that i prefer most!

OK, found it.  The place you were at is called Corner Baridi (Cold Corner) and yes the views are great from there especially the sunsets.  Were you on your way to Magadi?

On the aesthetics, I have no problem with the tree except that it is obscuring part of the mountain behind it, and I also want to see the mountain.  Had the photo been taken from a slightly different position then you would have had both, with no major change in composition.  As for the power lines I don't think they are prominent enough to do much drawing in, but they are visible enough to be noticed by people like me who don't like power lines!  Not that you could do much about them though.
