any Issues with the 32 GB SanDisc Extreme and Leaf Aptus II 10?
« on: October 16, 2009, 03:35:57 am »

I just got a SanDisc Extreme 32 GB to use with my Leaf Aptus II 10 and started getting error messages every few shots.  Has anyone else had a similar problem?  I think it's the combo as opposed to either individually but not sure.  I'd appreciate hearing from anyone having a similar problem

I'm not aware of any issues but I would recommend formatting the card on your Mac/ PC as MS-DOS (if a PC you need to choose FAT32). Also what is the message you get and what camera are you using it on?

Thanks

Yes, I always format a new card on my computer (mac). I'm using it on VC mode--Alpa max12--Message:"The imaging module has encountered an internal problem. Please switch off the imaging module and then swich it on again. No images will be lost."

Actually the back then freezes and some images do get corrupted. Only happens with the 32 GB SanDisk, not the 4 and 8Gb I've always used before.  If anyone has a similar problem I'd like to hear about it.  Thanks

Not a direct answer to your question, but I use Lexar 16gb 300x cards and have had very smooth sailing with my Aptus II 10.  I was told to format them on my MacBook Pro's disk utility to MS-Dos,using the 7 step security erase procedure and naming them LEAF-CF.  200 image capacity in the compressed .mos format.

Haven't used sandisk.

I have confirmed today with R&D that Sandisk Extreme and Extreme Pro (60MB/s and 90MB/s) of up to 64GB were tested and are compatible with the Aptus-II series.

Might be an issue with you specific back (although you say it work with your other cards) or with that specific card. Do you have any way to test it with another 32GB card?

Failing that I would suggest contacting your dealer, opening a case and following it up from there.

Thanks for all the feed back--I got a call back from Leaf this morning and in viewing the error message i sent him yesterday was confident a formatting issue--especially since it works fine on the 8GB SanDisc cards. It's not unthinkable I mis-formatted and didn't use "MS-Dos (fat)" format--I'll try again if it that corrects the problem then a lot to do about nothing
Thanks
