Anything you may hear prior to an actual product launch and "official" information from the manufacturer is unreliable speculation at best. Most of the "details" heard prior to launch will turn out to be incorrect, and you may be best served by ignoring any such discussions. If you search through the archives here, you will find a number of statements made prior to PMA 2003, almost all of which were plain wrong.
Some photography boards are notorious for rampant speculation about future products, which is rarely helpful to anyone. One board has explicitly banned any discussion whatsoever of unannounced products.
